Dally picked up the blue marble off the desk, making it float around his fingers a few times in an attempt to show off his meager magical powers to his classmates. Nobody seemed particularly impressed. He shrugged and looked at the talisman curiously.

So he had to use this thing to cast an elemental spell huh? piece of cake. blue marble meant water if he assumed correctly.

Closing his eyes and concentrating on the properties of water, Dally didn't quite know what he was trying to make happen but a moment later he was drenched. Many of his classmates sniggered and a few laughed out loud as he let the blue marble drop to the floor and pushed his dripping, blonde hair from his eyes.

Dally was not embarrassed however, he smiled, took a bow and returned to his seat while some of his classmates cheered and clapped sarcastically.
